Dr Malcolm AbelReferencesLetters of Reference are an important part of what we do as a professor of business administration and law, and as an advisor to students. The following is our policy for giving letters of reference. Letters of reference may be given where (1) the student
has taken at least three classes with the professor and achieved an A in
at least one of the courses, (2) the student has taken at least two classes
with the professor and made an A- in both of the courses, (3) the student
has taken one course with the professor and has spent a sufficient amount
time outside of the classroom with the professor for the professor to have
gained such insight of the student as to adequately form an opinion about
the student's character and academic performance, or (4) the student has
been an advisee of the professor for at least two years and has spent a
sufficient amount of time with the professor for the professor to have
gained such insight of the student as to adequately form an opinion about
the student's character and academic performance.
